Top Mysql GUI / Front End Tools

MySQL is a relational database management system (RDBMS). MySQL Front End Tools is an suite of desktop or web based applications for building and manipulating the data within MySQL databases.

Here I’m sharing some Mysql GUI / Front End Tools.

1. Navicat for MySQL

Navicat for MySQL is a powerful Database administration and development tool for MySQL. It works with any MySQL Database Server from version 3.21 or above, and supports most of the latest MySQL features including Trigger, Stored Procedure, Function, Event, View, and Manage User, etc.


Navicat for MySQL lets you quickly and easily create, organize, access and share information in a secure and easy way, taking MySQL administration.

Navicat for MySQL is available for three platforms – Microsoft Windows, Macintosh and Linux platforms. It connects users to any local/remote MySQL Server, providing several database utilities such as Data/Structure Synchronization, Import/Export, Backup and Report, to facilitate the process of maintaining data.

Navicat for MySQL available in : Premium/Enterprise and Navicat Lite is a free version for non-commercial use only.

2. SQLyog

SQLyog MySQL GUI is the most powerful MySQL manager and admin tool, combining the features of MySQL Query Browser, Administrator, phpMyAdmin and various other MySQL Front Ends and MySQL GUI tools in a single intuitive interface.


SQLyog works on the Windows platform starting from Windows 2000 to Windows Vista/Server 2008. Also work under Linux and various Unix’s (including Mac OS X) using the Wine environment.

SQLyog is available in two editions: Enterprise and Free Community Edition.

3. MySQL Query Browser

The MySQL Query Browser is a graphical tool provided by MySQL LAB for creating, executing, and optimizing queries in a graphical environment.


MySQL Query Browser is designed to help you query and analyze data stored within your MySQL database. MySQL Query Browser is designed to work with MySQL versions 4.0 and higher.

MySQL Query Browser is available for three platforms – Microsoft Windows, Macintosh and Linux platforms.

The MySQL GUI Tools Bundle includes MySQL Administrator, MySQL Query Browser, MySQL Migration Toolkit.

MySQL GUI Tools are freely available to download under the GPL licence.

4. phpMyAdmin

phpMyAdmin is a web based tool, freely available, written in PHP intended to handle the administration of MySQL. phpMyAdmin supports a wide range of operations with MySQL. The most frequently used operations are supported by the user interface managing databases, tables, fields, relations, indexes, users, permissions, etc.


phpMyAdmin is translated into 57 languages,
to ease usage to a wide range of people.

phpMyAdmin supports almost all OS platforms. phpMyAdmin is freely available to download.

5. Adminer

Adminer (formerly phpMinAdmin) is a full-featured MySQL management tool written in PHP. Conversely to phpMyAdmin, it consist of a single file(currently approx. 173 KiB in size) ready to deploy to the target server. Adminer is distributed under Apache license.


Free for commercial and non-commercial use.

5. Database Master

Database Master is a MySQL, PostgreSQL, FireBird and SQLite client application with a consistent, elegant, modern and easy-to-use interface that simplifies querying, editing, visualizing, managing, designing, reporting and constructing relational databases and also allows you to connect any database system (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, DB2 etc.) via ODBC and OLEDB connection standards.


Database Master is a modern Windows based desktop application, which is facilitating development and management of MySQL, FireBird, PostgreSQL and SQLite databases.

Supports Mysql 4 or higher.

Supported Platforms: 2000, XP, Vista, Windows Server 2003/2008 and Windows 7.

It requires .NET Framework 2.0, 3.0 or 3.5 installed.

6. dbForge Studio for MySQL

dbForge Studio for MySQL is a cutting-edge administration tool and development environment for professional working with MySQL databases.
