WAMPs are packages of independently-created programs installed on computers that use a Microsoft Windows operating system. “WAMP” is an acronym formed from the initials of the operating system (Windows) and the components: Apache, MySQL and PHP (or Perl or Python).

Here I’m listing few such open source WAMP packages.

1. WampServer

WampServer is a Windows web development environment. It allows you to create web applications with Apache, PHP and the MySQL database. It also comes with PHPMyAdmin to easily manage your databases.

WampServer will install Apache, PHP5 and MySQL on your Windows system. WampServer comes with a service manager as a tray icon. It will allow you to easily manage your server. You can install all releases of Apache, MySQL and PHP as add-ons.

You can switch online/offline to give access to everyone or only localhost.

2. XAMPP

XAMPP is a free and open source cross-platform web server package. The package includes the Apache web server, MySQL, PHP, Perl, a FTP server and phpMyAdmin..

XAMPP’s name is an acronym for X (meaning cross-platform), Apache HTTP Server, MySQL, PHP, Perl.

XAMPP is available for Microsoft Windows, Linux, Solaris, and Mac OS X, and is mainly used for web development projects.

3. EasyPHP

The EasyPHP package includes an Apache server, a MySQL database, and the PHP extension.

4. Apache2triad

Apache2Triad is a WAMP stack software distribution of some of the most popular open source servers and interpreters for developing and providing web content using windows.

Apache2Triad contains almost all the servers, interpreters, and user interfaces already configured and ready to be used.

EasyWAMP is a package contains a suitable & stable version of Apache 2 + PHP4 + PHP5 + MySQL 5 and some useful software as add-ons like FileZilla.

7. FoxServ

FoxServ is an Apache, mySQL, PHP installer package for Windows and Linux. FoxServ features the latest version of all included pacakges. PHP as a module, PEAR, and the Zend Opt. Foxserv is similar to NuShpere and PHPTriad.
